February is Helen's Trust Bake Off Month!
Will provide a much-needed caring, comforting call from one of our experienced Referrals Coordinators
“Phil had so much grace. He was a beautiful, lovely man. Dying people deserve to have what they ask for. He felt safe to die because he was at home.”
Can pay for a medication dispenser, supporting a terminally ill person to maintain their independence at home.
“Without doubt Helen's Trust gave both me and my husband in the last months of his life something to look forward to each week. ”
Can mean that the person caring for one of our beneficiaries can take a bath, read a book or have coffee with a friend, safe in the knowledge that their loved one is in safe hands.
“I am so thankful for the time Helen's Trust gave me each week for those few months. I can't tell you how much I valued that little bit of me time.”
Can pay for a carer to sit with our beneficiary for 3 hours, to enable their loved one to maintain their lifelong hobby or passion, just like Ralph and his membership of Chesterfield Football Club.
“Not having this time out to recharge my batteries would have meant that I would have lost the valuable friendships and the interaction during the game with them, that means so much.”
Can fund one whole night of rest for a family member or loved one who is looking after one of our beneficiaries and is exhausted.
“The carers were absolutely brilliant and the support of Helen’s Trust enabled me to have a break and know that Audrey was well looked after and safe.”
Helen's Trust volunteers make such a difference - but we need more. Do Good, Feel Good! Come and join us.
If you would like to work in partnership to make an invaluable contribution to the community we'd love to hear from you.
From baking cakes to climbing mountains, there are so many fun ways that you can raise funds to help us provide and fund our valuable services.
We aim to help remove the barriers that may be preventing a person from staying at home by funding and providing care and equipment. Some examples of things we have provided in the past are:
Returning to your own home, even after just a short time, can be one of the most comforting feelings.
