Also in attendance were Army Cadets from the newly formed Corp. based in Matlock.

The Show was the brainchild of Mayor Geoff Stevens, ably supported by his wife Jackie, and Shirley Johnson of Geisha Fashions.  When he became Mayor of Matlock, Geoff pledged that during his year of office he would aim to bring the local traders together in a common cause, and support the community.  The recent Fashion Show, held at the Members Room of Derbyshire County Council, was the first step in him achieving those two aims.

Geoff was introduced to local charity Helen's Trust - which supports the community by offering help at home to the terminally ill - at a Charity musical evening he attended with friends at Thornbridge Hall earlier this year.  And as his ‘Charity of Choice, ‘Helen's Trust will be the sole beneficiary of the £1,000+ raised through fashion show ticket sales and raffle tickets.

Speaking at the event Trustee Dr. Louise Jordan said "Helen's Trust is a charity that benefits everyone in our local community and it was lovely to see such a well supported and well organised event. Helen's Trust regularly helps people who live in Matlock and so another successful fundraiser is a way of ensuring we can continue to help more local families."
