The Helen's Trust, London Marathon Challenge was taken up by Chris Goddard from Frank Haslam Milan in Sheffield and his best friend, Paul Bellwood. Both have completed the Great North Run on numerous occasions since 2005 and Chris the London Marathon once previously. Paul was running a marathon for the first time. Their footslogging efforts have raised a lot of money for various charities.
Chris said " It went as planned after 4 months of training. We both wanted to get round in less than 4 hours 30 minutes, and we both did. I did 4 hours 25, knocking 50 minutes of my previous London Marathon and Paul did 4 hours 7 minutes. It was a very hot day to be running that sort of distance and we both feel we could do better in cooler conditions, so we have both entered the Virgin London Marathon ballot for 2010. In total we hope to have raised in excess of £1,000 for Helen's Trust"
