How you can help

Getting those sponsors

It may sound obvious but once you've decided on an activity, the next step is to make sure you get those vital sponsors. Ask everyone you know to sponsor you: friends, family, neighbours, school friends, and work colleagues.  Set yourself a target and make sure everyone knows how much you're trying to raise.  Try to persuade the few first people to sponsor you a high amount....others will follow suit and you will soon hit your target.

Gift Aid

Gift Aid allows us to claim back the tax on every eligible donation from the Inland Revenue. That means for every £1 you raise, we'll be able to claim back at least an extra 25p. On every sponsorship form, make sure the sponsor gives their name and address- including the postcode- and ticks the Gift Aid box. We can't claim otherwise.

Go online

An online fundraising page lets friends and family sponsor you by credit or debit card from anywhere in the world.

  • Visit www.justgiving.com/helenstrust
  • Click on ‘create your page' and follow the instructions.
  • Once you've created your page, email the link to everyone you know.
  • A personalised thank you email will be sent to everyone who donates on your site.
  • www.justgiving.com  can automatically reclaim Gift Aid on UK donations which reduces our admin costs.
Adopt us as your charity

Support Helen's Trust through your year in post if you are in a community role or in your academic year and we will support you with our fundraising ideas and support you in many ways to make the most of the partnership.

Lord Edward Manners of Haddon Hall has just made us his charity of choice for 2008-2009. We will be lucky enough to have a fundraising event in the Hall and grounds.  Cate Hunt Chair of DDDC has made a pledge to raise funds for Helen's Trust during her year in office.

Become an Ambassador

Helen's Trust launched the Ambassadors Club at our prestigious event on 30th October 2008 at City Hall in Sheffield when Michael Palin is very kindly curating an evening for Helen's Trust.
